More About This Website

Project Mexico is a collective of volunteers who seek to bridge the chasm between cultures, and help those in need south of the border. Launched in 1999, we've lost count how many homes we've built in the border communities of Baja California. Project Mexico is more than just homes though. Conversations > Montlhy trips to San Bernardo... possible?

Among the many ideas we've had of doing more in Colonia de San Bernardo, one of the more intriguing (and easy to do in some ways) is heading down to visit San Bernardo once a month or so. One of the key to building relationships is TIME, and seeing these folks only twice a year ain't gonna cut it. What do you think?

I think this is a fabulous idea-my husband and I are planning on going on the upcoming trip in October and we are very excited! In other areas of ministry that we have been involved in, in the past, to create relationships, time must be spent...while we are spending time with them while building them homes, imagine what could be done if real friendships and relationships are created!

I just got back from this last trip Oct. 20-22, 2006. I have to say that I enjoyed this trip so much. I loved that on Sunday we went back to see some of the previous homes that had been built and "talked to " some of the people that we gave homes to. I believe that spending time with the community will be a great thing. I would love to participate on the monthly visits. Although I do not speak spanish, I would love to participate anyway. I loved the idea that Sophia mentioned about the once a month Coffee meeting. Thanks Jon for bringing this to CHC and to all that participate, the smiles and tears of joy that are expressed by the families is worth it all.

I also just got back from this latest trip and I think monthly visits are a great idea. Though I don't speak Spanish, the joy these trips bring to the families is obvious by the smiles on their faces. Especially the children! I would love to participate in visits as often as I can.

Thanks to all that participate and a HUGE thanks to Jon Hall for bringing us all together to make it happen!
